New mobile service Sky Go to be launched July 6th
June 16, 2011Sky, one of the most well known entertainment groups in the UK and operator of the Sky Bingo online bingo site, is moving ahead with it’s push towards cross-platform availability.
On July 6th, the next step will happen in the form of Sky Go, an all-new highly branded service which incorporates two of the groups existing offerings: Sky Mobile TV and Sky Player.
Sky Go will allow all of Sky’s UK and Ireland subscribers to access TV programming on the go through just about any platform they choose – iPad, PC, or just about any mobile phone with a 3g connection.
The best part is – it’s 100% free! Customers will not be required to pay anything more for this, just register their preferred devices (just two at this point) and they can start viewing their favorite programs. At least if their favorite programs are news or sports. But Sky promise that more channels will be added later on.
Will this include a live bingo channel? Meanwhile, the selection of mobile bingo games is still quite limited in the UK. Here at newbingosites.org we have been waiting for some real action in mobile gaming, and we’ll be happy to see Sky bring two of the hottest trends in online bingo together – live bingo like in bingo cams, and a true mobile optimized bingo game.
Sky has shown over and over that it’s ready to take a leadership role in new media delivery, so we can keep our finger crossed – maybe they’ll be the first to take mobile bingo to where we believe it is going.
